The Great Adventure

God has a New Adventure for TCF, - and he wants us all to be part of it !

An adventure is  defined as “an exciting experience that is typically a bold and sometimes risky undertaking.”

Our adventure is going to be one which involves:-

Miracles and Healings
Other amazing encounters with God
People turning and giving their life to Jesus and joining His Church here.

Although the first two parts really fit in with the definition of “an adventure” – the third part – people turning and giving their life to Jesus is the most important as this reflects the heart of God ...

1 Timothy 2 v 1 - 4 says
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

There is also another scripture that has come to our attention recently – that being from Psalm 34 : 8  which says “Taste and see that the Lord is good”

This verse normally helps us to encourage us about God’s love and provision for us in our day to day life – but there is also a new angle that we can look at:

Sometimes we have food prepared for us – that is a new recipe and we have never tried before. In all honesty the food can also not look very appetising and we can be apprehensive to try it – but after encouragement we try the food and are pleasantly surprised how good it tastes.

When we look at all the incredible things that God has revealed to us in the past, we could say that from a human perspective most of it does not make logical sense.

For example :-

The least of us will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord. In its time I will do this swiftly - Isaiah 60:22

He is going to build our Church from a position of rest – Psalm 23 and Matthew 11

From out of a place of rest – it will be as a harvest that just present itself to us – 2 Kings 19:29

Fresh water is going to flow out from His Church here and make slat water fresh. Life will come to everywhere the water flows and many there will be large numbers of different fish. Every month of the year there will be a fruit harvest – Ezekiel 47

Jesus has given us His Holy Spirit to allow us to do greater things than He did. – John 14 ; 12 -14

Even though none of the above make sense from a human perspective they make perfect sense from God’s view and he is saying – Go on – have a go – “Go and taste to see if the Lord is good”

Go on – have a go at putting into practice what I have shown you what I am going to do.
Pray for the people you work with, your friends and your neighbours that they will have an encounter with God and that opportunities will arise to share Jesus with them.

Pray you we be able to lead them to Jesus and disciple them over this next year.

We feel God’s strategy for us is was to His Church in Ones and Twos. We were encouraged greatly by reading one particular article in the Evangelical Alliance magazine where it reported on a Church in South Wales where incredibly just four people started a few years ago praying for God to add to them one by one, and they had doubled in size year after year. We were also encouraged to re-read the account of Noah and the Ark where God saved all living things two by two and the livings things came to the Ark as opposed to Noah having to go out and get them.

So – are you up for A Great Adventure With God ? – An adventure where healing and miracles, and other amazing unexplainable encounters with God will happen. And where people will turn to Jesus.

If you are up for this – then just ask God to include you in ! He actively looking for people to be part of and who he can share this adventure with.
